In Loving Memory

of my beautiful Grandma' Galvan (Maria Del Carmen Galvan) 1936-2019.

She recently passed away and went to be with God, Her husband, her daughter, and her parents on the early morning of March 5th, 2019.

Today her family, friends, and church community will celebrate her life and lay her body to rest tomorrow. Please keep my Galvan family in prayer as we all go through the emotions and terms with her passing. Our family is filled with believers and our foundation is in God, all from the impact my grandma Galvan took, as being the matriarch and woman of God in our family who paved the way for future generations to come. She set the standard and example of how to be a true woman of God, servant leader, well-rounded wife, and mother.

As well as being a delicious cook. My grandpa Gregorio used to call her "Maria - good beans", I will remember her as "Maria - good rice and tamales!" Oh gosh, I would do anything to have a seat at her kitchen table and have a meal made by her. And ask her about the real story about how Fluffy (my siblings and my pet rabbit) died and ask her why she didn't bring him inside when it was thundering outside.

Growing up, I was raised in a non-denominational Christian church in East Austin and my grandmother went there for many years. Seeing her attend the early Sunday morning Spanish services and watching her be faithful to the Lord set the example for her family of what it looks like to serve the Lord.

After almost every Sunday church service, the family would get together at her home for lunch. My grandma would be in her kitchen, cooking and serving plates for everyone to eat. She used to make iced sweet Lipton tea. Adults would congregate in the kitchen and dining and living room areas while the kids ran around in grandma's room, all over the house, or outside!

I will cherish all the sweet memories of her and find comfort in knowing that I will see her in heaven someday.

XO,

Minerva

P.S.: Keep my Galvan family in prayer.

P.S.S.: Love the people God gave you, while you still have them.

John 3:16 (NIV)

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."
